I was at the
Indiblogger's meet yesterday. And realized that there were so many tech bloggers around. Now that's not something which really surprised me, but the fact that there were very less bloggers who blogged on specialized subjects. Food, movies, photography and gadgets were common topics and there were the rare mariners and the political bloggers too. I had already written on
why I never think blogging about technology makes sense, even though
thunderror.com is all about technology.
If I were to make Posted bits my main blog, what would I really write about? I always wanted to be a blogger who wrote something unique, something really distinctive about which not many wrote. About which people cared to read about, but really couldn't find sources on.
But what if you really don't specialize in anything? I do blog infrequently on the SAP developer network, but then that's not something I really want to blog about all the time. Life's experiences are not something I would rather blog about. I'd prefer using a private journal for that, something like
Penzu.
This blog doesn't really receive traffic like my main blog does. I write here just to vent out whatever I feel like blogging about. So it really doesn't have a niche audience. I don't even write anything here that interests anyone. I haven't ever tried to publicise this blog all that much either, except maybe on my facebook page. But since it does have a domain of its own, I think I should write something here. But off late I have noticed that I tend to update this more frequently than
thunderror.com, most probably since I really have to sit down and write creatively. Technology blogging doesn't really offer that.
Its harder to write when you don't know what you are writing about. And that's challenging? Not really. I am not really all that active on
thunderror.com these days. I don't even remember the last time I updated the blog, just because I don't find technology these days that's really worth writing about maybe. Buzz wasn't really too much fun and neither was Wave or all those bazillion changes to the facebook page. Symbian has been taking much of my time, but then that's all tweeted for and leaves me with nothing to really blog about. I tried searching for a
mobile blogging solution for wordpress, but I haven't really come across really efficient. Maybe that would make me blog more often, Just the way
gravity makes me tweet more. An application really makes all the difference. Just the way Firefox and chrome changed the way we browse.
